OUR HISTORY

A journey of dedication, excellence, and transformative education — from humble beginnings to a nationally accredited institution of distinction.

A Legacy of
Teacher Education Since 1962

Annammal College of Education was founded in the year 1962 by Thiru. AR.A.S. Arumugasamy Nadar (1893–1971), the eldest and illustrious son of the founder of the Subbiah Dharmanidhi, Thiru. AR.A. Subbiah Nadar (1871–1943).

The institution was established with the noble vision of providing quality teacher education for women graduates and preparing them to become able, talented, and socially responsible educators. The college proudly bears the name of his beloved mother Tmt Annammal.

Over the decades, the college has grown into one of the respected institutions for teacher education in Tamil Nadu, guided by visionary leaders, dedicated principals, and committed faculty members who upheld excellence in academics, discipline, and values-based education.

Today, Annammal College of Education continues its journey with modern infrastructure, technology-enabled learning, experienced faculty, and a strong commitment to holistic development and women empowerment.
